Bacon - Wikipedia

I have yet to find anything like what we call Bacon anywhere else in the world - whether called "bacon" or anything else.

Back in the 70s a show came on after SNL. We were ALWAYS out drinkin so i never saw SNL but i guess the bars closed in time for us to get home to see SCTV.

Second City TV. I think it was from Canada and, imho, it was by far the funniest thing on tv, in their very early days. One of their skits was The McKenzy brothers? And all they talked about was back bacon. Those boys loved back bacon, whatever that is.

I think Harold Ramis got his start there?

Optimist says, “The glass is half full.”

Pessimist says, “The glass is half empty.”

Realist says, “The glass is too big.”

I used to drink a little more than I do now, but apparently still not enough to find it funny

That was one of my favorites as a wee lad, along with North to Alaska and Big Bad John. Anything by Marty Robbins was a favorite too. On the silly side, Homer and Jethro, Ray Stevens and Roger Miller.

Johnny Horton's biggest hit, Battle of New Orleans was a big favorite of mine back in the day. Sadly, shortly after North to Alaska made #1 in the charts, he was killed in a car wreck. He was a Louisiana favorite and sang a lot in the Louisiana Hayride and was finally buried in Louisiana.

Johnnie Allan, a famous Cajun singer, used the tune from his song to write South to Louisiana, a big hit down here.
