典he way I see it. Decent people are OK with working and only getting a fraction back for the common good. Human nature. But man, giving nothing and expecting everything is just not gonna work.
Tried to reply with quote.....
I agree 100% but the problem is....
1, who determines what and who is decent and
2. What is the common good.
I don稚 think giving away discounts for Amazon prime memberships to welfare recipients is the common good nor do I think CEOs making hundreds of times more $ than the line worker is the common good. Nor do I think the govt employee who knows their retirement date on the first day of work is for the common good.
This ain稚 Sweden, this ain稚 Japan. They both have very homogeneous cultures, populations. If you live there, and are one of them, there is a common good. Just don稚 be different.
The USA may be the most diverse culture on the planet.
I bet a person from Denmark and a person from Sweden have far more in common than a silicone valley bit wienie and a south side of Chicago gang banger.....you think? I bet they have a different notion about decent and common good.
There is no common good, everyone has their own definition. And who痴 decent?
I believe our diversity leads to a far more interesting culture, phony political correctness and a slow race to the lowest common denominator.
