What is wrong with middle aged people?

We had a kid kill a Sheriff up here last spring, National news, he was with his girlfriend and was arrested in MA on a weapons charge, he made bail and came back to Maine, a day latter two sheriffs stopped him for a tail light out and arrested his girlfriend, apparently the two officers didn't treat them kindly so, the kid went home and his girlfriend went to jail, what does he do, he asks his friend to give him a ride to the town that one of the officers patrols 3rd shift at 1:00am.

His friend drops him off, he then sees a Sheriffs vehicle parked and the officer on the phone, he sneaks up behind him and shoots him in the back of the head with a 30-06, then he pushes the body into the passenger seat, drives down the road and pushes the body out on someones lawn, he then drives to the local cumberland farms and steals a pack of smokes and then drives way up in the woods and leaves the cruiser and hides in the woods, 200 officers looked for him, took them a week to find him.

What you don't hear is a DOG found him. And no mention of possible retaliation because of the treatment of the girlfriend.. Anyone reading this story in the news is getting about 50% of the real story..

The weapons charge in MA was because he had a "large capacity" 9mm handgun. Anything over the 10 round mags within MA will get you at least a year in the commy state jail so he probably figured well I'm going to jail next week and I need to show this cop that he is not getting away with treating my girlfriend and I like crap.. That's closer to the real story than anything I have heard or read..

I find it hard to believe that a "kid" kills a sheriff (or at least is the prime suspect for whatever reasons) is then found out of state on a "weapons charge" and it still released on bail AFTERWARDS.

That has not been my experience. I find cops to be more dishonest than other people that I know. I have a cop in the family and have been to their gatherings (of mostly cops) and there is no way I would trust the majority of them. I am sure there are many that are honest, but NO WAY are the VAST majority of them honest. Maybe majority, but not VAST majority. The family member is a flat out liar.

My best buddy retired as a cop.

I think if you took a sample of any large department, the results would be the same as any population of people. You would have the same percentage of jerks, pushovers, nice guys, folks that aren't a "people person", pedophiles, etc.

I think they also dont live long after retirement generally. It can be very stressful, if you let it.

If you do your part when dealing with them and be a gentleman, 90% of the time you will be ok. If you have a problem with authority and be a jerk, you are not only provoking them, your making them worry about you trying to kill them or sue them or any number of crazy things.

My buddy was nicknamed the mental case magnet. If a group of police were somewhere the nuts always approached him. Questions like: if aliens land in the front yard of my uncles rental house do I have the right to shoot them?

On small departments you probably get more power tripping a-holes. The pay is lower, so I guess you gotta want the job more.

As for your relative, if hes and a-hole, his friends probably are too.

My wife and I had a game and hobby shop once. Had a middle-aged lady part-time employee and everyone loved her. We sold the Pokemon trading card kind of stuff and rented video games. After a while I decided to add role playing games to the lot - stuff like Dungeons and Dragons.

Our part-timer had a real problem with that and decided to serve a two week notice. We were disappointed but accepted it.

Home one evening when a good customer of ours called us to say our part-timer was telling people she was quitting because we were going to start selling satanic material! I turned to my wife and told her I would give her a five minute head start to get to the store. Needless to say, that was the last night that lady worked for us.

One or two years watching and learning the business while demonstrating your willingness to learn and be the best dishwasher you could be?
I do think the desired qualifications of French Language and time in France are a bit of a stretch for a dishwasher though.

For french language, just raise up your arms as to surrender, and you should be good.

That said, I washed dishes and waited on tables when I was in college. Great work experience, and working weddings was actually pretty good money when you were a waiter or bartended.
