I can't tell form the photo, but are there markings/lines that graduate from one end to the other of this plug? It might serve as an air filter condition indicator that shows (i.e. CAT equipment) "progressive air restriction caused by dust and soot build-up in the air filter. Using this indicator allows you to change filters only when needed. Just a glance tells you the amount of filter life used and how much filter life remains." I have this type of indicator on my Kubota L305.

I don't know but my BX23 has one in about the same area. My guess is it's just an unused electrical plug. Maybe in Japan there is the option for a hair dryer or something /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think it's for the alternator upgrade kit. The dynamo uses only two small bullet plugs, but the alternator uses a big white plug like that.

No, don't think so. I have the alternator upgrade already. Its on the other side of the tractor, too. This plug is on the left hand side and the picture shows the air cleaner behind it and this two connector white plug is just a tad further towards the front of the tractor. I will try to get a clearer picture of it.

I have the same plug on my 2200. I think they use one wiring harness for a few different tractors.

How many wires and what colors? From there the wiring diagram should tell the story.

notice the red plug on air cleaner housing. That is where an optional air sensor would fit and these wires would plug in to show light on dash if air cleaner gets restricted. More problems than they are worth except in extremely dusty conditions.

That seems to make sense. the wires are black and white and they are located right next to the red capped threaded outlet on the air cleaner that appears it could very well accomodate a sensor. I'm convinced. Thanks guys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It could be to plug in test equipment the dealer has for a service.
