Has anyone succesfully kept the same set of Hitch pins on the Drawbar for longer than say 1 day , or in my case this weekend 30 minutes!!!!! .

I bought a set of these PIC 1

After Loosing no telling how many of these PIC 2.

After just 30 minutes of Discing down this years Corn Stalks , I noticed no pin on one side of the 3pt hitch. And this is a 100 foot wide by 150 foot long patch of Sweet corn, not very large of area.

Has anyone found a reliable ( Almost 99% sure that the only way the pin is coming off is by Human Hands, NOT Weeds,Stalks or whatever else) hitch pin.

I have been know to Wire Pic 2 type pins closed when I know that I am going to be in TALL stuff, but that is a Pain in the Rear, especially in 98 degree heat with 98% humidity.

Any input is appreciated.

You are losing lynch pins?? Pic #2 Are you buying the ones where the loop opens easily with one finger or the ones whey take a lot of effort to flip open (two fingers and an extra hand)? There is a big difference from one supplier to the next. I am assuming you have the head on top and you are using the biggest pin that will go through the shaft.

Sorry for the Mix up , Lynch Pins. Yes I have purchase the Super Strong. And the largest that will fit through the Shaft.

They do stay longer, but eventually one will come up missing.

I have never EVER lost any fasteners off any of my equipment...except that time I set the lynch pins on the tool box on the back of the tractor...then there was that time I was brushhogging and the top link pin lost its keeper.

Just today I was mowing (riding mower) the field and the front tire almost came off. The circlip had come off at some point (I was able to find the washer) and I have no idea where that is.

If I had a very powerful magnet I could probably find a bucket full of fasteners on my property, I know I keep picking them up in the gravel drive.

I lost one pin and spacer off the bar that holds the 3 ph onto my 4010 early on. After replacing it, I haven't lost any.

I was forever losing pins or keeper pins from the drawbar hitch on the Gravely. The ONLY ones that would stay put were the keeper pins like a circular key ring. They were a pain to put on, but they'd stay.

I have to say I have never lost one other than misplacing it somewhere in the shed. My attachments only inlcude a rear blade and a snowblower, so no deep brush or fields, but they do go through a lot of vibrations.

Do you have the swaybars on the 3PH snugged up to keep some outward pressure on them? That is the only direction of adjustment on my TC-24D, so I have to keep them snugged outward if I don't want a lot of play side to side with the implement. That way even if the keeper ring flips up, the pressure should help keep them in place.

I had the pins from your #1 picture securing my FEL. Kept losing them just like you. I finally put in bolts and lock nuts with the nylon centers. Never lost one of them. As far as lynch pins go (your #2 picture) I couldn't use on the FEL but I use them on many of my other attachments, Can't say I ever remember losing one of them.

I keep a bunch of the lynch pins on my tractor as mine also dissapear at an alarming rate expesially when working in the bush.

Maybe try putting some duct tape on them or replacing with a washer and proper sized cotter pin. A proper sized bolt and nylon locknut should also work as someone has mentioned.

When you do get a good solution please let me know!

I had a problem losin lynch pins when I brush cut. Ususally in thicker brush. I had to use some wire to tie the lynch pins down. Now, I never lost one doing normal work in the open areas.

I've lost a few as well. I just keep extras handy on the tractor. The bolt or cotter pin will work better... just more of a pain to remove when you need to.
