I recently bought an XP550 because I thought some catastrophy had befallen the trusty 437XP. and I had no time to sort out the loose cylinder fasteners.

But the xp550 grates on my sensibilities when turning high revs. It's that "lean" burble that gets me. I can do OK with the rich burble...

The selling dealer said just today, "auto tune runs on the edge for EPA."

I'm wondering, Just what is the feed back sensor for these auto tune power saws?

I wish they would have a high speed screw. Low speed/idle, Auto tune is fine by me!

You get the later MKII? Little heavy at 12lbs PHO for 3ci size saw. But they run great.

AT is tunes itself to max IMHO and always checking.

Stock for stock about best cutting wise if timing 3ci sold today.

Even if you get a air leak it will keep fattening up to try and get it right. So sort of a safety if you dont know what your listening too.

There is a certain serial number and after that MKII got updated bearings.
The others were known to go out alot. Even in the earlier MK1 too.

IMHO run at least 40:1 in it and let it tune to your mix. But your saw do as you like.
