Guys- I am looking to pick up a preowned tractor to replace my Dads- 40 yr old Kubota L235- Have settled on the Massy but notice that they went to the 1835 over the 1735- What is the dif?? Also we will be using the tractor to mow about 20 acres of grass that is somewhat on a slope- Would you guys rec. going shuttle or Hydro-I may not have a choice buying used- Any advise would be appreciated- thks

They went back to an Iseki engine in the 1835M; the 1735M had a Shibaura.

I would imagine both are great, but personally I would take the Iseki machine.

The HST makes it much easier to change speeds while mowing. For example a lower gear when heading up or down hill or a higher gear when on smooth ground. With a shuttle that doesn't have synchronized shifting you have to stop to change gears.

If you need to back up to get under trees very often the HST is much better.

Recommend staying with the Iseki engine for simplicity.
