When I was younger getting gum in my hair peeved me. These days particularly this morning it's urethane adhesive sealant in my receding hairline.

Why are people so incompetent at simple things.
I had not been to a Taco Time for a while. But today, I wanted two crisp MEAT burritos. For personal reasons, I NEEDED two crisp meat burritos. It was my gift to my self for a hard day.
Got home, and they are BEAN burritos. And they are in the meat burrito sleeves. And I was charged for the meat ones.

I wonder..... They just had a very limited job to get it right, and yet they failed. And it was important to me, to get the Crisp Meat, cause that was my treat for the day.
That's why I stand where I can see them make my order if possible, and if it's made wrong I tell them I watched them make it incorrectly and have them check the order against my receipt.

Sometimes the district manager would scan a package saying it was on my van out for delivery, but I had already left the terminal, people would flag me down saying I had there package ...

Probably what happened to this package of mine this week ... Yes, I know this time of year is tough on package delivery drivers!

Considering the advent of the first below zero temps this "winter" here is one of mine.

The use of the word "negative" with Temperature. Temperature is a measure of how much heat there is. Negative means you owe something, or have overdrawn it. It's possible to have NO temperature (aka 0° Kelvin), but you can't have negative temperature.

Below Zero is the only acceptable term in my book, although I won't cringe too hard if someone says Minus.

Curious if you would "say/speak" this different than "write"?

I would "say" 8 below,(leaving off the "zero") but "write" -8°F

Many weather guessers will say the forecast will be "in the negative numbers" ...

My pet peeve (one of many!) is people who seem to think the the "wind chill" number somehow effects there engine starting ... Wind-chill is based on evaporation of moisture on skin ... Some people use the expression of "feels like" ...

Pet peeve - screaming sports announcers and their over-the-top fake excitement. It's usually radio broadcasts for the local NFL/MLB/NBA or college equivalents. National radio/TV - not so much.
