Automated AI answering service when calling just about any business.
The people who implement these systems seem to think we still live in a world with people who don't have internet access. By the time I've gone to the trouble to find a phone number and physically dial a company, you'd better believe that any answer I need can only be serviced by a living and breathing human being, and not easily found via web, search, or any automated system. I already exhausted those options, long before wasting my time to place a phone call.

This is nothing new. My first computers were Dell, just because I was (am) completely computer illiterate and back then they were purported to be the best. When I had a problem I would go through their self help problems first.
(remember, back then I was paying per byte to be online.)
When that didn't help I would call the 1-800 number... where I was told by a talking computer to go through the same self help steps I had already tried. When I finally got through to somebody he would try have me do the same steps yet again. Eventually they told me what I knew from the start... my laptop needed a new screen.
I guess they were just preparing me for talking computers which don't understand English.

On a more positive note I bought that laptop at auction and had it sent to a motel in Lowville, New York. It wasn't long after that ( 2 months) when 9-11 occured and they would not be able to do that now.

Well, actually not everyone has internet access, so I guess those people are correct.

And not everyone does any basic things before calling. Most people can not even accurate describe their issue. Example my wife.... The car won't crank could mean it it out of fuel. Starter turns, it coughs but never starts.

I'm STILL getting Flat Earth things popping up on my phone and computer... From, you know... that one thread....
Maybe you are one of the chosen ones? ;)
Take the red pill and be free!

I tried to take the red pill this morning. Tossed one up in the air and before I could catch it, it hurtled away from me at like a million miles an hour due to the spin... 🤣

Everybody has their hand out.
Go into town and the major intersections have bums and druggies with hands out.
Buskers at the entrance to stores and malls.
Once my purchase is rung up, "would I like to donate to ------?" The annoying thing here is the store gets the tax break for the donation I and other suckers made. You're welcome Mr. Wally.
Radio, every second ad is some request for cash. Local hospital, food bank, sporting equip for unfortunate kids...
TV, similar to above.
I take a nap and get woken by the phone. Not someone I know.
Some shyster, or the heart and stroke, kidney, cancer... organization.
Don't get me going with the TV evangelists. You never know, but you just may need afterlife insurance and they'd like to be your agent.
I'm convinced that if the you stopped all the organizational begging the unemployment level would spike 25% minimum.
I really do believe only about 20% of the population actually produces something of value.
The rest work at shaking them down.
If I gave a few bucks to everyone I'd be the one needing a freak'n donation.:ROFLMAO:

At least they are ASKING. Our government TAKES our money and gives it away (many times to causes we would NEVER support, given the choice) at the point of a gun and threat of ruination and/or jail.

Actually, it's not your money they are giving away.
That was spent long ago. Now they are giving away your grandchildren's future.

People entering through exit doors. This happens all the time and they look at me like I'm in their way when I'm exiting through the correct door with a shopping cart.

People parking in no parking zones right in front of restaurants to pick up carryout food. Again, this happens all the time and there's usually a parking spot within 30 or 40 feet from there.
