What is some of your Pet Peeve's

I'm up to 8 renewal notices for the Wife's People mag. subscription so far this year. It doesn't expire until Feb. of 2026.

I always print the expiration date (and the term I renewed for) in the checkbook under the Mag name in the notation column so I can flip back and check if they send one of those notices without an exp. date.

I don't have many mag. subs. now, but when I did, I also highlighted the payment info. in the checkbook so I could find them easier.
We suddenly started getting People mag. Neither of us has any interest it and no idea why we are getting them.

I found a phone number for them and found out they are complementary, and we owe them nothing.

I told them to stop sending them and the representative said she would stop them.

With subscriptions declining along with the content, magazines are in a bind. They guarantee advertisers a certain amount of readers, which might be how you get them for free.
My mother used to buy each of us a subscription to Reader's Digest years ago. We finally asked her to stop as there was nothing in them, if you did see something interesting it referred you to their website to see the full story.

I wish we would get it for free, it is a weekly rag and the annual subscription is $130. I would never get this magazine, but keeping up with the Hollywood trash is one of the Wife's guilty pleasures....

Mine did as well. I like to read when I'm on the throne, and the articles are just the right length, if often a bit on the sappy side. I don't recall running into the website references you mention.

Dying industry. I haven’t subscribed to a paper magazine in at least 20 years, maybe 25!

e-Digests are easier to pull up when you have that unexpected break to read, in a waiting room or stuck somewhere, no need to remember to carry your magazines with you!
I miss magazines. Never warmed up to them moving to online-only. Don't own a "mobile device".

I still get a couple...Consumer Reports, a couple financial/investment ones and a couple free trade magazines.

Do you print threads for this forum, and hand-write your replies? :p
I do still often print construction plans, its easier to look at things, make note, look at two pages at once, ect than it is on a laptop, and its a heck of a lot easier to see/look at/carry; but i would say most guys now just use a tablet with the plans.

With that, basically 100% of what we deal with are 11x17, and not 24x36. Now, there are some projects that use "Nexgen plans" that arent meant to be printed, and are almost like an electronic version of scroll plans.

Edit/Note: thats linear or horizontal construction, not vertical (ie not buildings)

Peeve: virtue signaling thru bumper stickers. I don’t need the driver behind me to know my religion or who I voted for, and I most certainly don’t care about yours!

I don't mind the bumper stickers, no different than billboards really ... But what is bothersome is they go to trouble of putting it on, and half of them are so tiny letters that you can't read what it says, unless your on their tail at a traffic light!

And speaking of billboards ... Those electronic ones should have a "night mode" to dim the light output at night ... They are so stinking BRIGHT! And the video ones are a distraction too, I usually just hold my hand up to block the light!

I just perused my local paper online. While it seems nice to have real time news, there are a lot of articles I miss because their algorithm sends the most frequently viewed. Even clicking on their "latest news" skips a lot of content for some reason. I find myself visiting the newspaper site (which I pay for), then two TV news pages just to get the content I used to get in the paper edition every day.
Today the first two "latest news" articles were regurgitated from several years ago and weren't really news.

I have seen little to no coverage on anything national except tariffs and immigration policy. Yet they consistently claim they are voted one of the best m
news sources.
