What is good in trailer tires?

I do the same. I have three towing trucks so any type of electronic setup would be challenging. Those point and shoot thermometers work well.
The control setup for my TPMS can easily be moved from truck to truck. (like moving your GPS) The harder part would be to remove the sensors from each tire valve stem. Not hard on SRW trucks, but a DRW is a pain in the tail.

I've been impressed with the Venom tires. They're all-steel construction, much like a mini commercial tire, and are easy to balance.

Didn't put them on the horse trailer since they deserve the smoothest ride possible. That one should ideally have bias ply tires on it, but it's hard to find round ones these days.

I'll only tow 15,000 miles max with them in the next 6 years, carrying about a 7,000lb load or less one way, and 3,000 coming back..
Newberry,
Trailer tires are load and speed rated. So far the comments have been about load rating ( number of plies ) but not about speed rating. I migrated to N speed rated tires after suffering blowouts, on highway, when towing well below the rated tire load on L speed rated tires. As speed goes up so does heat build up and load rating falls due to being unable to shed heat.

I had 4 tires blow out on highway while traveling at 70 with loaded trailer in the summer. Fortunately, each time, it was only 1 of the 4 tires on trailer so I could limp, at 15mph on side of highway, to a repair station for replacement. Scary with semi traffic flying by.

I went to N speed so even at 70-75mph with fully loaded tires the tires have extra head room in their heat resistance. None of the N speed tires have failed in last 7 years and thousands of miles of use.

If your use is exclusively low speed 30-50mph then L speed is fine but consider the N speed for highway use.
L: 75mph
M: 81
N: 87 mph

The speed rating is another reason I like the Venom tires. Mine are M rated, which is cutting it very close, but that's better than L or less.
