What is a 3-pt pond scoop used for?

Seriously - what is purpose of one of those?
Please explain.

I dont know all the uses, but they are used on the 3pt hitch and can be used to move dirt etc. Ijust read a post recently with more details and pics, If I find it again I will post it. I think it was in attachments. I will try these links.

I got one last week off ebay for $66.
Been on the tractor ever since.
Man, I have moved a lot of dirt with this thing.
Just drop the scoop where I want to scoop up the dirt.
Drive forward till the scoop is full then lift it.
Drive to where I want to put the dirt and dump it.
EasyPeasy and all that.
This thing is great.

We've had an original Ford 3pt. scoop for about twenty years now and it's a handy item to have. Now, it's not the same as a FEL by any means, but it will move a surprising amount of dirt from the relative ease of the tractor seat.
A few years ago we cleaned out a small dirt tank with it behind a Ford NAA. Yeah, it was slow going but we had the time, we enjoyed ourselves, and it saved a lot of money versus hiring a dozer at $50+/hour.
Seriously, for what they cost they are one of the most useful and cost-effective items I've ever used.
