- Kioti DS3510 and 2 x Fordson Power Majors
Hi Guys,
I've got a 10 acre paddock that is very compacted so the grass is a bit patchy etc. I have a bog and bush plow which I could use to completely plow the however I'd like to try and improve the areation without doing that and hopefully improve the pasture without going back to scratch. After recently buying my Kioti I don't have a lot of funds and I'm only on 50 acres so I need to get something versatile that I can continue to use to improve the pasture without distroying it. My initial thoughts was a ripper or scarfer. Over here there isn't any option to hire attachments like this. Also I've used an aerator on other a paddocks (I should have purchased it) however I think I need to go deeper first. I've got the fordson I could use for the heavier work however I've grown accustomed to the comforts of the Kioti. I dont plan on keeping the Fordson for much longer so I need to think about what I could continue to use with the Kioti DS3510. So the plan is to get The deep aeration without distroying the pasture thats there. ( I will top dress ith some seed once I've finished though)
Any advice would be appriciated. The soil is clay based with very fine granite, good drainage etc just very compacted.
