What image resizing programs are other TBNers useing?

I minimize the file size of images I upload to TBN the best I can so they download faster, fit on the web page better, and try to help the folks stuck with excruciatingly slow dial up connections. Having upgraded to a newer Computer with the Vista operating system a while back I found the Microsoft Image Resizer Power Toy for XP is not compatible nor does Microsoft offer something similar for Vista that I'm aware of. So after trying out several free programs I settled on XnView. I have found it powerful enough for most of my image viewing, resizing, and editing needs. I do have photoshop and paint shop pro but XnView loads faster and is quicker to resize images by just choosing one of the listed custom sizes then go to file /save as to change the file name and keep the original. Plus it is a better image viewer than Microsoft image viewer.

So, I'm just wondering what programs others are using to resize images?

I'm using pixresizer.com ....it does one or a folder full, to preset sizes or your choice, plus what I like - it's easy to figure out!

Yep, that's the one I use, too. Glad to have one that this old computer dummy can use. And yes, I'm using Windows Vista.

Picassa, a free ware by google is an excellent product. I have used it for many years. Resizing in a batch process is one of it's capabilities without changing the original pictures.

I second Irfanview...
Probably the best free image program of all time...easily the most downloaded...very easy to use interface
The guy who created this program never sold out to commercialism

Irfanview is Great, specially if you use it in conjunction with a U3 enabled flash drive. In other word you can load the software off of a flash drive (it stay resident on your drive) rather than host computer. it is great for mobile application. Xnview is again another great free-ware developed by a French guy.

I use a free French program which only does the resizing but does it very well for individual images or batches. Among the preset reductions, I chose "my screen resolution" so that it gives the best possible resolution to show the image on a computer screen and leaves out the several million pixels useful only for printing. It's called VSO IMAGE RESIZER. Pretty easy to use too.
