Mowing the yard backed the hitch into the Vinyl on the side of my house.

If you are not putting dents in a truck you should have bought a SUV.

Funny! I've been saying that for years but I swapped SUV for station wagon. Every time I say it, someone gets their feathers ruffled. :p

I'd be fixing a lot of dents on the truck. If you are not putting dents in a truck you should have bought a SUV.
Sorry but I don't agree with the if you not smashing it you are not using crap.
My work truck has 900,000 miles. Up on the deck I carry off road fuel, tools, 2 asphalt mills, power broom, pallet forks.
Moves equipment every day. Everything on the decks gets used every day.
My trucks not dented up. If something gets bent/broken/dented I fix it.
I've put 2000 hours on my skid steer in 3 years, its not bent up/dented up and it gets used hard. If something gets damaged I fix it.
I had some damage to the back of the skid steer this year. I replaced the lights and panel that got broke and repainted the back. Looks like new again. Its called caring about your equipment and maintainance.

Plowing snow one day I was pushing and dumping snow up over a steel t post that I had as a marker in a bank near a ditch. It was half buried and as I lowered the bucket it came down so that the hydraulic piping made contact with the top of the t post. The piping bent but I stopped just in time before I punctured or destroyed the tubing. Every time I use the tractor I see it and have a reminder to be careful!

I got a fence post last week. Even managed to poke a hole in the house with a set of forks once LOL.
Also poked a hole in siding with forks on.

The bed of my truck looks like a grenade went off in it. The body is in pretty good shape. There are a few dents mostly caused be loading firewood. I only fix stuff that affects the function of the truck. I plan on driving it until it falls apart. Why would I spend money on something that doesn't increase the value or do anything else? You have a real truck with a real bed. I can load stuff on the Chevy 3500 dump without hurting anything. Loading anything in a regular truck bed results in damage. Sometimes I bump into the 3500 with the tractor brush guard while loading. They share a little paint, but no harm done. Try bumping a regular truck bed with a tractor. It would collapse the whole bed side.

I agree. When I do something that destroys or makes worse something I own, I can't stand it because mostly it has been done with a touch of my own negligence. I have to fix it for two primary reasons:1. I like things that look nice. 2. To fix stuff usually takes a while to do it right so it's a form of self retribution which is better than self flagellation that I really feel like doing.

I've caught a couple of extension cords with the teeth on my bucket. Does that count?
