So last night I take a fresh photo of the house. The sun is in the back so I do what I can with the digital to compensate. I locked the exposure on a darker spot to trick it. Sorta, kinda worked. Got home and the picture looked OK, but not great. I posted it and looked again and it was the same. Got to work this morning, looked at the picture and it's much darker than what I saw last night. Here's the picture House.

What happened and how can I improve?

Thanks all /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

OK, I tweaked it with MS-Photo Editor but still don't understand why it got darker over the 'net?

I'm sure when you get back home tonight, the picture will look fine to you again. The settings on your two monitors are different.

Morning, Rob. I've had similar problems which is why I've changed the metering setting on my camera to spot metering. For some reason, many of my pictures have subjects that are back lit. I don't know if the attached is an improvement on the second picture you posted or not.

Thanks for the help Mike but unfortunately my digital camera has no such frills. Kind of frustrating since my 35mm has plenty of features to help with backlight and such. I guess I'll have to master one of the photo touch up software packages /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Love the turret and the wrap around porch! What do you call that style of house? It seems to be quite popular with the folks here on TBN. Is it supposed to be victorian? Our houses here in the south look similar but with a much wider footprint./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks Jeff. Our house style is called Queen Anne which is a subset of Victorian. The real ones were built between around 1880 and 1910 /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
