Total BS. I did a Google search using the ad's header - same ad was posted on multiple selling sites. What was curious ("red flags") about these posting was, although each used the same words and pictures, tractor location stretched coast-to-coast.

These scams are so easy to spot - like a fully restored 1967 Austin Healey 3000 for $8,000.

interesting, that same tractor was for sale here in Oregon a few weeks ago. If you think about it, if these scammers put all this energy into these scams why cant they put that energy into a paying job?

It still amazes me the number of folks that try and chase these down and really think they are pulling one over on some uninformed person selling a tractor.

I've said this to myself numerous times.....obviously they have decent computer skills....put all that effort into a real job!!!!!

I've been trying to use CraigLook to search all the regional Craigslist sites for tractors and am amazed at how many times I see the same ad's posted in different cities and states. Sometimes they change the header slightly or the body text of the add, but it's the same picture, same unrealistic low price and a different poster.

What is in it for these scammers, other than harvesting e-mail addresses from those that reply? Do they do it just for fun??? I don't get it.

A boat load of money from "gullible" people...

I wrote to someone to tell them about the scam... they saw the ad and since it was flagged and taken down... they posted that they had the money and could send it right away... I got a reply from them (thinking I had the tractor) and wanted the address to send money too :mur:

This person is only collecting VALID e-mail addresses and reselling them. So for all of you that "wrote" this scammer, well he already won by getting your e-mail address.

My IP allows FAKE e-mail addresses so I always use those when contacting people I don't know then dump that account when the spam starts.

Never ever contact people on CL that have prices to good to be true because they are a E-mail collection business.
