NH TC 55 DA
Just dreaming that some day after all the clearing is done I would change my AG R1 tires over to turfs for summer field work. BUT can one person change 14.9-24 rears on NH TC 55 DA which have been loaded. What equipment would I need, other that jack/jacks to safely move tires around. I think I read in one thread the tires loaded are 500+ pounds.(damageous) So what
would one need for this change over..

Do they fit the same rims?

Depends how fancy you want to get / which equates to how much you want to spend.

Couple long "spud" bars is what most the tire guys I know handle these with, that said, they make all sorts of jacks, cradles etc.

Trick is to make leverage work for you, and not let the tire get heading a direction you wish it not too go.

If it is the same rim, just leave the rim on the tractor, and change over the tires.

I think it was Gemplers that had a pretty good slide show about how to change tires.

If you are saying you want to put turf tires on ag rims it will not work. They require a different size rim.

Now if you are talking about removing the tire and rim combo to replace with a different tire rim combo that is fine. With filled tires they will be heavy and it is best to have some help. What I do is just keep them balanced and roll them someplace to lean them up. If one were to start to fall I would not try to catch it.

Yea, like those guys said. If you plan to take the loaded tire & rim off the tractor, be sure to either jack just one tire at a time off the ground or use 2 jacks, one on each side and as far outboard as they'll go. If you jack in the middle and take one side off the tractor will fall over. When I bought my old IH 340 didn't know the tires were loaded and found out the hard way. Those tires are in that general weight range, 300 - 600 lbs. depending how full.
