Luckily, mine never complain! And they LOVE to go in the truck, and will race me to the door, so that I either have to step over them, or take them!

Before we moved back to town, we had a rat terrier and I've never seen a dog that liked to ride as much as he did. You'd have a hard time beating him into the car or truck unless you locked him in the house before you went out. And unless you went more than 20-25 miles, he was constantly on the move, trying to see out all 4 directions.
And now we have a Chihuahua and she likes to go, too, but if it's just me and her, she promptly lies down in the floor on the passenger side and sticks her head under the passenger seat and she'll stay right there until we stop, then she'll jump up in the seat to look around. But if my wife goes along, then the Chihuahua wants to sit in her lap.

Our JRT loves to ride. She will beat you to the truck every time, and sits on the center console looking out of the windows. If she see s a cow, she goes nuts. Which is often since we are surrounded by them.
Our last JRT also loved the car, but you could not take him on rainy days. He would try to attack the windshield wipers through the windshield. He would see that movement and go beserk.

Having seen so many dogs that ended up loose on, and on the highway, after a car wreck, if I am leaving the property, mine ride in crates. I bought the extended cab truck, to have room for crates in the back seat, as they are NOT riding in the truck bed. A friend gave me a car magnet last year for my truck that said "Dog Mobile"! Very appropriate! :laughing:

Don't have a dog but my shop cat used to love going with me to my other property and check the buildings out while I tinkered with whatever I was there for. Then Id call him and he would come running we go back to shop. He would stand up on the seat looking out the window like a dog it was hilarious.
My house cats think I am trying to kill them on the other hand.
They sing all the way to the vets office in their carriers and then sing all the way home they hate "flying" is what I figure it feels like to them.

I never let mine ride in the bed of the truck, but Dad's best friend from the time they were kids raised and trained coon hounds. So I've been on a few coon hunts with him and the dogs were all just loose in the bed of the truck. I remember one night we had 11 dogs back there and went nearly a hundred miles to where we hunted that night.:laughing:
