i have an 2007asv rc100 with a loftness carbide cutter and read a post about a hydraulic leak and they said it happened before they "turned it up"
are they adjusting it for more hyd. pressure?

That's not much information for us to go on. I Googled TBN for "turned it up" and found seven threads, but none of them related to hydraulic leaks.

Could you possibly provide a link to the post where you saw that, or cut/paste the post you read?

Hi kingcutter, welcome to TBN

You're asking about this thread? http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/construction-equipment/121052-asv-leak.html

Sure sounds like that's what "turned up" means. First you should repair your leak, then you can think about adjusting the relief for higher pressure. It'll just leak quicker if you do anything to raise the pressure.

Let us know what you find and how you fixed it.
good luck.........

There is a screw on the pump that increases the pressure. I think stock is 3300 psi, my machine is at 4300 psi...I know DirtyWorks had his to 5000 psi.

Give it some time, you'll learn to hate it.

One thing Kingcutter, higher pressure means lower flow. The cutter will respond faster but will probably stall faster too unless the flow is increased along with the pressure. Just my 0.02 I may be completely wrong.

Very good post by Westshore. Pressure and Flow work opposite of each other - think of a garden hose. To increase pressure, you put your thumb over the end of it - more pressure but less flow.
