It is most likly a lockout of some type for the aux hyd. either so they will work off seat or similar as was said before. also like others have mentioned a manual is a great resource for things like this. good luck.

I had a button like that on my Tractor. After a few years I decided to push it to see what it would do. When I did a little door opened up in the dash and a cold bud light rolled out. I wish I had tried it sooner.

Interestingly, the older JD flat back Ag tractors had ac vents the exact size of beverage cans and taking out the louvers, one could insert a warm one to make a cold one.....
