I have a Ford 1910. The alternator has been replaced recently but voltage tests show that the alternator is overcharging (18.2v when tractor is running at over 2000rpm). This suggests that the voltage regulator is broken doesn't it? I would like to take the voltage regulator off so that I can get a replacement - BUT I don't know what I am looking for! What will it look like and where will I find it?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andy.

Got this picture from the following link:

Ford Tractor Voltage Regulators

Don't know if it is for your year tractor or not.... or if it was internal to the old alternator [ that could be your problem if it was ]. Could be a wiring problem from when they installed the new alt.

Good luck, Jerry :)
