What does SW update for LX3310 Accomplish?

My LX3310 is at the dealer for its 50 hour service. The dealer stated it would be finished tomorrow after the required “Campaign” (SW update) was completed. Exactly what does that do?

Who knows, but more than likely, something to do with emissions.
