Quick ?, Barlows filled my tires, but I didn't get a clear answer with what. I don't think it was calcium. Does anyone know off hand?

Does anyone really bother removing the stuff? Can't say I really want to unless I was actually doing 100% mowing, which I'm not (then why have the tractor? ;) )

I cant speak for barlows, but if you dont have tubes in your filled tires, chances are you have bio fluid in it. Like rimguard or similar. did you try to move stem at 12 oclock and do a quick press on the schrader valve and see what blows out onto your hand? is it reddish/brown (beet juice) blue (WW) or clear (water) or orange RV anti freeze)or salty white (cc)? I am going to bet a dollar its bio fluid.

The bigger question is why is Barlow's doing things to your tractor without you knowing what they are doing. Doesn't make sense.

Methanol is clear like water. (methanol also known as methyl alcohol is the active ingredient in Windshield washer fluid) The blue in WW fluid is of course just a dye. Methanol is about the cheapest fluid to fill tires with, when bought in 55 gallon drums, and you can mix it with water depending on the climate you are in.

I've bought 15 Kubotas from Barlows. Some had filled tires and some don't. What do they fill them with? I don't know and I don't care.
Should they volunteer the information? In my opinion if I don't ask they don't need to tell because as I said before "Who cares"? Well, it looks like one person cares because he's asking here instead of an email or phone call to Barlows thinking many others buyers from Barlows will know. Looks like most or all that have read this thread that buy from Barlows don't "care or know or ain't telling".
I think your response is, well, moving right along. Just my opinion.:2cents:

They filled mine with Rimguard, or at least that was what I requested. I assume they did just that, though I can't really say I could prove it easily. Don't know what it looks like as it is inside...

Hit the valve stem with a fingernail. If you get a brownish smelly fluid... it is Rimguard.

Did that already. It was clear but dark tinted.

Honestly I did discuss w/ one rep during the purchase process, but had a bit of trouble understanding the guy's southern accent. :)
I know it wasn't calcium or something else that would rust the rim, and wasn't plain water. Its was non-toxic and would not freeze. Seem to recall it was some bio soln, but not sure exactly what. Not specifically Rimguard brand I thought, and I thought he said it wasn't just beet juice.

I asked the delivery guy again upon receipt, but he didn't know and I didn't care that much to really follow up. It was done and they did a good job delivering to order.

That's some good advice. What all else is "bio fluid" other than beet juice & rimguard? I think your on the right track. Will have to test later.

I am not saying what Barlow uses should or should not be in a public thread, but I am buying a tractor with filled tires and I definitely want to know what it is for future decisions/issues.

If they never have a flat or leak it may never matter, but if they did it might be important.
