Don, Did you prepare the meat in the instantpot as well as the final steaming?
What do you do with your Instant Pot you cant do with a crock pot?

These were Spicy bean tamales, and I did cook the beans the day before in the Instant Pot. I also have a Tamale King press that makes the tamales really fast.

Don, many use the roasters (like the one's they serve the German noodles in), using racks and a bit of water to steam them.

Actually instead of masa I have been using corn flour for good results with the outer layer.

My 3 quart Ultra arrived today. Too late to make something in it for dinner but I plan to make a batch of creole cabbage with left over turkey tomorrow night. I am impressed with the quality of the Ultra. :thumbsup:

Wife had chicken and dumplings ready for me when I got home from work. I can't say it tasted any better or worse than the stove top version so I asked if it was easier in the Instantpot and she said definitely! So for that meal, Instantpot won again.

Did the maiden voyage with the Ultra 3 quart. Very nice unit, I think I will keep it
