In the attached photo, what do you call the small roof extension immediately above the overhead door? And how would you frame it? I would call it a greek return if it didn't extend all the way across the wall. I'm designing a pole building that's visible from our house and want to add a few pieces of architectural bling.
tnx

We are currently doing standing seam metal roofing on similar architecture. We call them "eye brows" for lack of a better name.

How are they framed? Do they hang off each vertical chord on the gable truss and return against the a wall stud or the garage door header?

some call them eyebrow others call them an Apron, but in either case here is the way most are built, rather simple add-on , I prefer to attach the short rafters to the side of each wall studs before the wall sheathing etc, etc, are applied, no way for it to pull away;)

Great, thanks for photo. I like your way of doing it, I've seen gable overhangs made as assemblies like that without tying them into the roof and they generally sag over time.

Full return, or maybe "brow" if it's associated with doors underneath. In a craftsman style, the brow is usually separate from the roof and supported with large brackets (looks pretty cool).
