It was a wet day today but I pulled some smaller stumps. In picture 1524, I pulled the two smaller ones, pictures 1525 & 29 are those stumps, 1526 was a very small stump that was on a walking trail that I pulled out first and 1530 & 31 are the last four stumps I pulled out today.

Tomorrow should be the day I start filling these holes after sifting out the roots from the sand & dirt.

Since the ground was so dry, decided to take three more stumps out behind my house. The were ones left over from my flying squirrel wars about three Xmas's ago... when I had to take down seven trees in the middle of the winter. Got two of the stumps out, but the other one is a little close to my gutter drain line... so it lives another day. Have to mow around that anyway. Part of this summers project to get anything out of my mowing area that is just not worth it anymore.... Maybe have second thoughts after the weekend/storms....

Looks great, but that upside down thumb nail is driving me crazy [ well, crazier :) ]

Thanks and sorry about the upside down thing. Don’t know how to avoid that. Really enjoying the tractor and the FEL. Getting a lot of stuff done.

Today, I didn't change my oil since last season. Today, I didn't get to greasing my equipment either. Greasing, not over due, but needs.

If I keep not doing things, I may not have to worry about not doing things.

Cheers.......Coffeeman

Had to pull a lower FEL pin that wouldn't take grease and clean it out. Zerk was fine, but the "tunnel" from the zerk to the outside of the pin was caked shut with crud.

Changed the outer air filter, and tightened up my Pat's QA U-bolts.

Used the power washer to get all of the mud, dirt off. Kept it at a good distance, as I didn't want to hit anything with a 2100 psi cone of water. Basically just gave it a bath.

Next week, I get to do the 500 hour service...(yippee) :smiley_aafz:

I went to move the tractor and the Check Engine Light was flashing and the motor was surging up and down.

Turned her off and checked around, really low on oil.

NBD.

Filled her up with oil and the CEL and surging remained.

Tried several tricks, none of which did anything.

Finally got her started and running smoothly, but CEL still on and no power.

Time to get OBD tool and see what is up.

Anyone KNOW where the port is on the 2538 Cab? I know it is supposed ot be left side and loose, but before I go digging, any help would be appreciated.

I decided to purchase the $200 OBD reader from HF. I figured with all the cars and bikes and such, it will be handy to have.

The OBD port is right in front of the firewall, on the left side, just as I was told.

Didn't need the reader, however. There is a 2 wire plug that goes into the fuel pump. From what I can tell, it is a fuel temperature device. I say that because every fuel pressure switch I could find had 3 wires and this has two. Additionally, the only part I could find that matches is a Bosch Fuel Temperature thing.

Anyway, jury rigged the connection, reset the code and all is well.

The HF OBD reader worked fine, but did not recognize the vehicle, no tractors listed, only cars. BUt all the live data, error codes, etc were all there.

The fact that threads and holes are damaged, means it was operated while loose. Just cause the bolts were torqued, doesn't mean that things were properly/tightly seated together. If the tire wasn't off the ground, it could have been on a bind that didn't allow the "proper torque" to pull it together. Such things require closer observation than a "good walk around". You also need to take things like "tractor weight" and "the earth" out of the equation when checking torque on such things.
