What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

I had ordered a grapple and set of forks. Got a notice the grapple shipped late last week and a call yesterday from the depot. Was expecting to have to get a trailer and pick it up at the freight depot as I live on a bad road in the sticks but the freight company offered to deliver them if I could unload it. Told them I had a set of bolt on forks and I should be ok as the grapple only weighs about 600 lbs.

Well I have to go meet the truck 10 miles from me as he cannot figure out where I am. He follows me home, opens the back door and there are both the pallet forks and grapple strapped together on a crappy pallet....1000 lbs of goodies. My cheapo bolt on forks are too short so we added a large ratchet strap and get the load off safely.

Glad I got the 4140 as size does matter at times.

Used the new pallet forks to load a 6' rototiller that is going in today for repairs. Imagine trying to do that without a tractor.

shooterdon, which grapple did you get? Was your 4140 already set up with the third function?

Celebrated the one year tractorversary. 229 hours the machine. I trenched across the driveway and installed a culvert. Still happy. Owning blue doesn't mean being blue.

My MT125 was delivered Saturday morning. Since then, between thunderstorms, call outs, and a Memorial day cookout I've been able to put around ten hours on it. I mowed about 3.5 acres, used the BH to dig out an old (what I believe to be) muskrat tunnel near my pond that had collapsed and was causing a serious rollover hazzard, used the FEL to move two piles of dirt the township dug out of the ditch and piled in my yard two years ago into the muskrat tunnel and leveled that off as best I could, and finally I moved most of a 10 ton load of fly ash that has been sitting in the middle of the "back field" since I bought the place over to the wood line.
Over all I'm very impressed with the machine so far. It is far more nimble than I expected with the FEL and BH removed when mowing. I think this thing is going to be a real back saver. 20190525_110819.jpeg21905.jpeg21906.jpeg20190525_121309.jpeg20190527_120110.jpeg

It will, but I found a few things it can't do. I've been breaking my back, arms and legs digging a trench for a short retaining wall that I just can't the BH into position for. It's behind a shed on one side and along a higher dirt area on the other. Just no way to position it to dig that out. I've dug what I could with the BH and used the FEL to remove the loose piles, but it has still taken a lot of elbow grease to do the main digging.

What's the other blue thing in the distance in the one picture?

That was the delivery truck with mine and another MT125 TLB going to it's new home.
There are a couple of projects I was hoping to tackle with the tractor but I'm not so sure about now. One is replacing the overflow pipe for the pond. The hill on the other side is quite steep. Not sure how safe it would be to operate the BH on a slope like that so it will probably end up a hand dig.

Neighbor, twinsies? ;-)

I have a few things to dig that are on hills. They probably won't be getting done with power.

Well I went out and did some chipping and broke a shear bolt. No big deal took me all of five minutes to replace it and kept on chipping. Chipper sure doesn't like quarter inch green brush with a bunch of leaves on it. Clogged the chute and the wheel but took about 10 minutes to clear it.

A day late on my report: I used my pallet forks to pick up a Suzuki 250cc ATV from the neighbors place and bring it to my garage, for some much needed carb work. Not more than a half mile round trip, but a couple of big hills, including a steep, grassy slope. Went up backwards to avoid having to hoist the ATV too high

First time I actually needed 4WD.
