Ouch.
Love the tread pattern on those tires though! Least it's fixed and you're back up and running.
I have to say, I was really impressed with these tires in all the mud last winter. They are excellent mud tires.

Well, here we are $2100 later, finally.
OUCH!!! That scares me. I'm trying to be safe around Honey Locusts, broken cedar limbs with sharp stub branches etc but running over stuff is just part of working the tractor, it happens. Sorry this happened to you, but thanks for coming and posting the outcome. (I think it sucks that Goodyear has such a "almost non-existent" warranty on a tractor tire. Many tractor tires last for years and years and years, get plugged, patched, and put right back to work.)

What sucks is that it ripped through the sidewall. If it had gone straight up through the tread it could have been patched or a tube inserted for way, way, cheaper.

What really sucks is that no one will try and perform a $300-400 vulcanizing repair on an expensive tire. I don't know if it's a liability issue on the repair shops that they are afraid of or they worry about sudden failure causing a problem which is so much different on a low speed off highway vehicle. I have seen so "farmer" sidewall repairs were heavy cordage was used to stitch sidewall back together and then multiple boots glued into place the repair and protect the inner surface of the tire for the tube.
And there is this outfit that has external sidewall kits for non highway tires.

Agricultural Use

If I have another large tire issue I am likely to try these, hope I don't need too.

I tried out my new to me 6' cutter. It worked great on this waterway.

Good to know I would have definitely tried that. I would have needed two kits since the slice was bigger than what their patch is.

They actually were going to try and vulcanize it. The guy who pulled it told me they can definitely vulcanize a straight slice. On mine it went straight then made a 90 turn for another 1 1/2 -2". He said that would make a difference and sure enough, they couldn't.

Used my new Piranha Tooth Bar for the 1st time today.

This thing is fantastic, pulls up small trees by the roots and digs like crazy.
