This old offset disc has been abandoned at some property we lease for hunting. Overall, it doesnt appear to be in too bad of shape. Anyone know what brand/model this might be? Think its worth fooling with?

Also, not sure how you would transport it.

It looks like it may be homemade...is that possible. The John Deere offset we had when I was growing up on the farm in the 1950's was much heavier than this, and the adjustment parts were much more solid looking than this one. You pulled a rope and backed up and the two gangs would line up one behind the other so we could pull it to the field, and actually we pulled it down the sand roads in Southcentral Kansas from field to field. My Dad was the first farmer in our community to use this instead of a plow, and the land owner once told him, "You know all the farmers around here think you are nuts to work your fields like you do, but I'm making more money off your farm than any of the others I own."

I actually made me a four foot ofset disk that I pull behind my Kubota. It works just like the one in the picture.

Yup, its a passive disc plow that is dragged rather than spun by the P.T.O. great for sandy soils and heavier bog/clay soils using a PTO model you see them in Europe in a lot of soils.

I'm trying to say this without sounding accusatory - this is just a general statement; I've had people help themselves to stuff in my "junk" pile. I would not assume anything is abandoned until you've approached the landowner and asked him. This is worth something to him - even if just for scrap.

Agree 100%. This particular situation I know I could get it if I want it, but I would ask first. That said, the more I think about it, i already have a good disk so the thing is not worth anything to me so i won't pursue it.

So.....where is your junk pile?:licking:
