Fist year with tractor to remove snow. My driveway is about 150 yards long. Have cleared snow about three times so far but now it's all ice. What would I need to spread sand or salt on drive a regular 3 point spreader. This might be a dumb question but I'm asking anyway.
Any suggestion would be great.

Shucks with 150 yards a walk behind will do a fine job.
Just be sure to get a round one with cone shaped bottom and you also want it to have rubber tires.
If you are handy you'd be advised to lock both wheels (duplicate what the locked side is)
I am set up that way and my drive is hilly and about 3-4 times longer. Works just great for me.
Dry sand is the trick but best is fine crushed stone as sand gets washed away and also covered with water and snow. Crushed stone protrudes and always grips.

The broadcast 3 point spreader is a fine option however you need the means to load it. (second tractor?)

We use a PTO driven spreader for salting sidewalks at work. Load the hopper from 50 lb bags of salt we buy by the pallet. We added a piece of metal halfway around the spreader to narrow how wide it spreads the salt. You wouldn't need that for a driveway.

I like my layer of ice, it keeps the gravel off my lawn
