What are your thoughts on a '69 Allis Chamlers Dozer?

A '69 Allis Chamlers dozer came up this weekend. Ad. doesn't say what size it is. But, it has a cab. Although I don't think it's fully enclosed. It says it runs, U/C is good. But, needs new batteries and injectors bled from sitting. Farm dozer and no longer needed. Any input? Oh yeah price is $8K.
I did find a couple of Cat's & Deere's and even a couple of Cases to check on as well. I'm going to try and check on them in the next few days.

It's 44 years old. What's parts availability?

Parts for the older AC dozers like that are not a big problem in fact we have more trouble find parts for the bewer models.

How long has it been sitting? My guess is there is a lot more wrong with it then just batteries and needing the injectors bleed. Fist rule of scamming somebody is telling them everything is great except something small and simple for you to fix, they don't have the time, and then you are stuck with a money pit.

I agree with Eddie. I would not consider it unless I could hear the engine and run the dozer for a little while. When I was buying my farm dozer, I looked at several and decided to go with a Cat D3-B. It served me very well for several years and when I sold it, I got my money back. Ken Sweet

When I started asking some basic questions (because I don't know anything in depth about them he told me he was busy and he'd call me back later. He never called anad I even tried calling him back to no avail. Just as well. So, I'm still looking. I increased my budget some to give me a little bit more leeway and hopefully get something better. I want to use it not work on it. As I don't have the time or work shop area where the dozer will be located. Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll let you know if I come up with sometthing else. I was going to go look at some this weekend but they're talking about freesing rain, sleet and possibly some snow through Monday. So, I might not be able to go.
