Snow What are you wearing? I mean during snow removal.

I used to bundle up with my sled bibs, jacket, & PAC boots. Since I got the golf cart cover, I just wear jeans, Bean Boots, and a jacket. I bought a small golfcart heater, but it stays surprising warm in it.

I am a little simpler...

Sweat pants, t-shirt, long sleeve turtle neck t-shirt..
Carhart thinsulate coveralls.
2 pairs socks.
ski gloves with liners.
a head sock.
Ski goggles..

6 in boots..
then the flashback to the Corps..
a full set of Gortex pants and jacket.

We don't get alot of super cold weather here..
But a couple weeks ago we were in the 8-15 degree weather for several nights and mid 20's for several days..
I had to scrape the drive twice in 3 days..
yea I know nothing big compared to alot of you...

takes about and hour and a half to get the 1.25 mile driveway done..
Plus warm up time for the tractor and other little things..

on the first occasion I spent 3 hours outside and stayed warm.. and when it topped 23 I started sweating....

anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Later,
J

Sweat pants,t-shirt and Cabela's polarfleece shirt tucked into Carhart insulated bibs and arctic weight coat. Footwear includes insulated Lacrosse side buckle boots with wool or alpaca socks. Love the alpaca socks but they're a little cashy!! Headware would include old snomobile balaclava and hood from coat. My hands take the cold pretty well, so some old finger golves usually get the call. After all that it's time to play!!

What the heck, this is fun reading. :)

My outfit:
Thick Wigwam socks
sweatpants
if bitter cold, Marmot long underwear (I'm a skier)
Carhartt Artic Bibs
t-shirt or Marmot long underwear
Beans Hurricane shirt
Sorel jacket (which I don't think are made anymore) :(
Sorel caribou boots
electric boot heaters if it's bitter cold (again, I'm a skier) :)
Balaclava facemask
mad bomber hat - I love that thing!
ski goggles for the blowing snow
Carhartt work gloves - waterproof

We don't have to look good... we just have to stay warm!

Wow, never realized how much I actually wear! I feel like Randy Parker from The Christmas Story after he gets his suit on.

And now I have to get it all out... 8"-14" predicted here for tomorrow. WOO HOO!

You just knew a cab guy would have to chime in. :D

I normally wear my lounging pajama bottoms, boots and a sweatshirt and usually sunglasses. A hat and gloves would be overkill. I do carry them since I have a little yooper scooper work after I put the tractor away.

The thought of driving naked in the snow appeals to me right now.
Why? Because its 45.1 C here today. (Thats 113 F). Even the dog doesn't want to go for a walk.

And it looks like we've got a week of this to come.

I wear the usual winter stuff for me, jeans, 2 prs of socks inside Sorels, t-shirt, old army shirt, sweatshirt on top, then a pair of old ski pants that come up to chest height with suspenders. Over that, what I've found most useful, is a very light rain suit/windbreaker 2-piece outfit... Pants pulled up over the ski pants, then my regular insulated winter jacket, then the jacket portion of the rain suit over that, with a hat and the rain suit hood over the top of it.

Gloves I haven't really worked out yet, yes, fingers are the first to go! I just come in after a bit and swap gloves for another (warmer) pair. I use a front-mount blower on a red SCUT, and the rain suit thing works very well at shedding any blowback. (Also use it on my motorcycles...:D Very light, stuffs into a small bag, easy to carry, very effective.)

PS- Kinda hard to see the suit, I guess.... this was one of our first snows this year- 4" followed by 1" of rain.

You guys must start to dress to go and fight the snow about 3 days before the storm even starts. I'm and old geezer and all I have is a flannel shirt, sweatshirt, a good vest and a water proof winter jacket, good socks and insulated boots and most important a great pair of double knit mittens which I find to be the only things that keep the old poor blood circulating hands warm.:)

I wear this custom made tractor suit.

LOL...I like the "sumo snowfighter" look....and the hall light makes a dandy "indian feather" too...:D

Myself...I wear a 40 year old Refridgiwear full "snowmobile suit" that I got for sledding and ice fishing years ago..ya just can't kill this suit. It's one of the best things I ever bought. If anyone's familiar with the MA/NH border area on route 28, I got it at Al's Rod & Gun Shop in Lawrence, MA. Man, what a store he used to run...The place was a HUGE MESS, but he knew EXACTLY where the tiniest item was. At the time this suit was $90 which was a lot in the 60's...
Just reminiscing here...sorry if I got off topic. Anyway..that's what I wear to this day.

Aaah, the reason I live in the northeast. If it ever got to 113F here I'd move to Canada!

What's the total height of your 3030 w/cab, if you don't mind me asking. Do you keep it garaged or out in the elements?
Thanks!

Carhartt arctic bibs and jacket with hood. Carhartt insulated gloves. Cabela's Inferno pac boots. Mad Bomber hat sometimes with full ski mask underneath on those extra bitter days.
