Yup, Amazon Prime doesn't have the 5 gallon pails and buying a ton of the bottles would do my head in. I gave up Prime when I left the city, we're lucky to get "within 2 week" delivery out here, never mind "2 day" LOL

I hate 5G pails.
Holding them up 5’ high at chest height to fill a bigger farm tractor sucks just for saving a couple bucks.
2.5’s are so much easier.
And I’m still working out & bench pressing some pretty nice numbers.

Plus the 5’s go “glug, glug, glug” like really slow and splashy when you tilt ‘em.
I’d recommend a pair of 2.5’s over a 5 every day.

I've never used Messick's, but agree that some companies see shipping as an easy way to pad the bottom line.

Speaking of ridiculous shipping prices, maybe 15 years ago when I put a new metal roof on my garage I ordered the panels from HD (was cheaper online plus the store didn't stock the size I needed). Free shipping to store, would have cost over $1000 to ship to the house.

No brainer there, especially given that the store is only a half hour away.
