... in particular the "specially reinforced fame" ... what exactly is beefed up? What are the differences in the loaders? .... I might have missed something but the specs looked the same. I sat on BX2370 (didn't drive it), liked what I saw but have concerns about the pedal setup. I have hip and knee replacements and am used to a twin pedal setup. Felt a bit awkward but is it just a matter of getting used to it? Also how big a deal is it to pull the backhoe on the BX25D and put the arms on it? TIA

The BX25D is a BX2370 made at the factory to have a FEL/BH as part of the machine. The entire machine is designed to have a FEL/BH and the particular stresses which a FEL/BH causes to be reinforced. There is a bolt on frame that comes with a Kubota dealer installed BH but the B model TLBs and the BX23/BX24/BX25 are factory made TLBs in the SCUT size. In the B model TLB vs B model dealer installed BH and FEL, well it's almost a different machine when you see the price difference. I think around $10,000 difference and just a BH is around $7000 so there is another $3000 due to strengthening/BH design/commercial grade.
I've owned a BX25 and now a B2620 FEL/BH (saw the frame on the dealer floor being installed). The BX25 is the most versatile machine I've owned.
Pedal layout has never been much of an issue for me, whether single pedal or split but to each his own and I've had some of both. Maybe like the single pedal better than the split if I had a choice.
There are lots of you tube videos showing how simple it is to remove and reinstall the BX25 BH, which I never did do nor have I ever taken the BH off of my B2620. The arms should be fairly easy to install but they just laid on my floor like the ones for the B2620 are now doing.:)

Johnthomas,
Couple questions. I was looking at buying a B2650 with loader and backhoe as my next and last tractor. It's increased power over the b2620 really interested me while still keeping with a smaller sized tractor. I was set on the b2920 but since they aren't making them any more, I won't be ready to buy in time to get one. What would be different in the frame installed at the factory and the one put on at Barlows? Do you feel if I wanted a b series tractor I would be better off getting a BX25D instead based on the frame strength? I have owned a BX2200 and a BX25 which i just sold a couple months ago. I really liked the BX25 but felt i wanted a little more power out of the loader and backhoe. I'm buying a nice tract of land (20-25 acres) to hunt on and build a home. I mainly want to mow a couple acres, maybe bush hog 3 or 4 more and let the rest be woods. I anticipate cutting firewood, and all kinds of landscaping jobs. I'm not in any rush because the faster I get done, the less seat time I get. But, I don't want to spend all day digging out one small stump either (exaggeration). Do you feel the b2650 will be less durable than the BX25 because the extra frame is installed at the dealer instead of the factory? When I price the b2650 on the Kubota website it doesn't give the option for the extra frame parts. Are those parts already included in the backhoe price or is that an additional cost I'll incur at the dealership? Just trying to learn more and be sure I get the right tractor next time. As I said, I liked my BX25, just wish the backhoe and loader had a little more power. Is the increased price from the b2620 to the b2650 justified in your mind? To me, the specs of the 2 tractors seems to justify it...but I'm no tractor expert. Thanks for any advice.

The subframes for the backhoes are designed by Kubota for both tractors the BX and the B models and the BX is the only tractor that they are a factory option on. The frames that they designed are very versatile and give good ground clearance in the rear for loading and unloading on trailers. They also keep the backhoe tight to the tractor so the leverage is not excessive on the tractor.
For the BX if the subframes for the backhoe's were to be added at the dealership there would be many parts differences so installation would be more difficult then on the B models which is one of the reasons I believe they factory build them to keep the costs realistic.

Johnthomas,
Couple questions. I was looking at buying a B2650 with loader and backhoe as my next and last tractor. It's increased power over the b2620 My understanding is the B2620 and B2650 are the same tractor with the 50 meaning it has cab option but no different power, same engine
really interested me while still keeping with a smaller sized tractor. I was set on the b2920 but since they aren't making them any more, I won't be ready to buy in time to get one.
What would be different in the frame installed at the factory and the one put on at Barlows? I don't know except the factory installed frame option is only on the B-TLBs and the BX25. All other BH frames are dealer installed as far as I know.
Do you feel if I wanted a b series tractor I would be better off getting a BX25D instead based on the frame strength?
No, I do not because I believe the frame strength of a B is greater than a BX
I have owned a BX2200 and a BX25 which i just sold a couple months ago. I really liked the BX25
but felt i wanted a little more power out of the loader and backhoe. I believe you have answered your own questions, you want a bigger tractor :D

or is that an additional cost NoI'll incur at the dealership? Just trying to learn more and be sure I get the right tractor next time. As I said, I liked my BX25, just wish the backhoe and loader had a little more power. My B2620 FEL BH does have more power than my BX and is just as strong or stronger than the BX25 but I did like the smaller size of the BX because of where I am now doing the jobs I now do but the B is bigger, higher off the ground, stronger and more sturdy
Is the increased price from the b2620 to the b2650 justified in your mind? Not for me because I don't want a cab unless there are other differences that I don't know about
To me, the specs of the 2 tractors seems to justify it...I didn't see the better specs unless it's some deluxe features like extendable 3 ph arms, position control and maybe cruise which none of these other than extendable arms would be of much value to mebut I'm no tractor expert. Thanks for any advice.

Hope I've helped and not clouded the issue.
