Second time I changed the engine oil in the L3301. Even with the loader all the way up giving me room I find where that oil fill is located a Royal pain in the mister.

Finally got some 3/4 PCV tubeing and a 45 degree elbow, with a small funnel I can get oil in there with out spilling a lot.

I have one of those screw on oil cap things with hose that screw on the jug I bought for filling the Cummins. Might know they have changed the cap size on the new design oil jug.

I'm going to be doing my first oil change on mine soon. Would a transmission funnel work? With the long flexible spout?

The engine oil fill location has always been a PITA on the two tractors I've owned. I finally got a funnel with a looong flexible spout. Raise the FEL - stick the spout into the engine oil fill hole - wire the funnel to the FEL arm - pour away. Works like a champ.

I didn't have to raise the loader on my L4200GST, but I did wire the funnel to the loader arm. I attached a piece of clear plastic tubing to the funnel to extend down into the oil fill port. The tapered spout on any funnel makes for a good friction fit for attaching the tubing extension which is more flexible and can be cut to any length as needed.

Haven't had to change the oil in my new L5060GST yet. I have more hours to go before it's first oil change. Then I will see what that is like.

Why not just drop the loader off????

Takes way less time than working around it.

For things like that (fluids and difficult access) I just use an appropriate length and od (usually 1/2", sometimes 1/4") of clear vinyl plastic tubing and siphon.
I used to do a LOT of aquarium work and siphoning is just so easy.

Removing the loader to add oil to the engine. what a waste of time that would be. Just raiseing it gets it out of the way. what the problem is, is where and the angle of that opil filler port. that's the real Pain in the Kister.
