kubota B7800, Kubota T1570
My wife, daughter, and I went to the fair this evening, and of course, I went to the tractor exhibits. I sat on all makes they had there, Massey, Cub Cadet, McCormick, New Holland, everything except John Deere. ( I won't give the local JD dealer the respect of looking at his machines. Nothing against JD, just this dealer.) Anyhew, I don't know if I'm just used to the Kubota or what, but the others just seem to be lacking in some areas. I didn't ride any or try them out, but something just didn't seem right.
I guess I'm just really happy with the 3 Kubota products I've had. I'm sure this could start a lot of arguements from the other guys, and I'm also sure that the others are fine machines, but if I ever need a new tractor, it'll be orange.

Wenever we go to the fair I make it a point to go to the dealer displays.
This year I fell in love with the Kubota zero turn mower. " Honey I really need a deisel mower, really."

I had a similar experience at a fair last year. Sat on and BRIEFLY examined a JD 2305 (as long as my small children would allow).

There were a great many things that were different...I can't say for certain if they were better or worse, just different. The loader lever is down by your hip. All the levers seem in odd (to me) locations. For some reason, none of the hydraulic lines looked "hidden"...they were placed somewhat haphazardly under the deck. Not to be too blunt, but the overall appearance confirmed my brother's negative assessment of Deere heavy equipment...a conglomeration of lowest-bidder parts. His opinion is formed by many years of using many different brands of all sizes of construction equipment all the way from a lowly TLB to the largest of excavators and D-9 dozers.

I guess my machine strikes me as a tractor made up of a great many parts. My BRIEF observation of the Deere was that it was a great many parts put together to create a tractor. Subtle difference, but pretty obvious when they are side-by-side.

So I confirm your thoughts, Mr. Shantycoke. Perhaps I look at everything with orange colored glasses, but I sure like my machine a lot. Everything is JUUUST RIGHT. 145 hours and absolutely zero issues. Bulletproof. (knocking on head, desk, and any other hollow wood around)
