The wife and I decided a new tractor was out of the question. So off I went in search again today for a used one. I decided to head to Walt's place up in Berlin Vermont seeing how I was going to be 20 minutes from there this morning. I took his 1995 Cub 7275 for a spin and had some fun with it. I liked the machine and it seems to be in nice running condition. Cosmetics could be better. I am not concerned with how a tractor looks as I am going to use it, not display it. So here's the deal. I got it for $9300.00 delivered 182 miles to my house. It comes with 4 new loaded tires, 6' Cub mid-mower, rear 6' scraper blade, 5' FEL. It also has a heated cab though the doors are missing. I will also get the manuals for it. The cab is going to go as soon as the tractor gets home this week. One thing I couldn't do is to get a warranty out of him. All the other dealers around me also have no warranty on used machines of that age. He did say that there is nothing wrong with it. I couldn't find anything wrong either. Hopefully this machine will work out well for me. I just wanted to say thanks to all for all the help in my search for a tractor. I'll post some pictures once I get it cleaned up.
P.S. A little note on tires. After talking with Jim and the guys at Walt's. I went with industrial tires on the front. The guys there said that the Ind. tires will hold up much better than the turf tires under full weight loads in the bucket. They also said that the tires will wear longer. I asked about the tire sizes and they showed me a book with the dimensions of the turf and Ind. tires. they are the same size and can be mix and match. You do need to be careful if using 4wd in sharp turns so that you don't tear the turf. They will not be any problem otherwise.
