The wife and I decided a new tractor was out of the question. So off I went in search again today for a used one. I decided to head to Walt's place up in Berlin Vermont seeing how I was going to be 20 minutes from there this morning. I took his 1995 Cub 7275 for a spin and had some fun with it. I liked the machine and it seems to be in nice running condition. Cosmetics could be better. I am not concerned with how a tractor looks as I am going to use it, not display it. So here's the deal. I got it for $9300.00 delivered 182 miles to my house. It comes with 4 new loaded tires, 6' Cub mid-mower, rear 6' scraper blade, 5' FEL. It also has a heated cab though the doors are missing. I will also get the manuals for it. The cab is going to go as soon as the tractor gets home this week. One thing I couldn't do is to get a warranty out of him. All the other dealers around me also have no warranty on used machines of that age. He did say that there is nothing wrong with it. I couldn't find anything wrong either. Hopefully this machine will work out well for me. I just wanted to say thanks to all for all the help in my search for a tractor. I'll post some pictures once I get it cleaned up.

P.S. A little note on tires. After talking with Jim and the guys at Walt's. I went with industrial tires on the front. The guys there said that the Ind. tires will hold up much better than the turf tires under full weight loads in the bucket. They also said that the tires will wear longer. I asked about the tire sizes and they showed me a book with the dimensions of the turf and Ind. tires. they are the same size and can be mix and match. You do need to be careful if using 4wd in sharp turns so that you don't tear the turf. They will not be any problem otherwise.

Congratulations! So the quest is finally over. I'll bet that is a relief. Sounds like you got yourself a real good machine. How many hours are on it? Don't forget the pics when it arrives! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Here is a picture of the Cub I bought. I did not take the weight boxes in the back. I got a scaper blade instead. I hope that if I ever do this again it will be to buy a new tractor. Searching for a used unit is a real pain in the butt. The Cub shows 23++ hours. I didn't see any leaks or spots under it. Jim also changed all the fluids and filters on the Cub. One thing I really liked was the height the loader goes up to. The 7275 feels like twice the machine compared to the B1700 Kubota my neighbor was letting me use. I also lifted the front end of the tractor with the bucket and checked the front end for loose parts. It did check out fine. Next winter I will tear it down and clean it all up and maybe even paint the entire unit to look like new again. The new Mahindra that Jim sells is just like this machine, except red of course.

Looks like a nice machine! When you paint it, you should paint it red and put Mahindra decals on it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Just kidding. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks, I've got a 36'x60 barn to store it in once I get the barn rebuilt. I could have a Mahindra clone if I did that with the decals. Wait a minute. The Mahindra is a Cub clone now isn't it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Has it been replaced by the 7500 series?

Congratulations Jim! I know what you mean about the quest for a 'good' used tractor. No matter what shape they are in people want a lot of money. I remember looking at some that people told me they were 'stored' inside all the time, (it was faded real bad from those inside incandescent lights though!); that it was washed off each time it was put away, (well it had been washed that day because it was all wet and inside his barn!); that it was in very good shape, (of course that one had the lights all busted out and the front end torn up! Beauty is definitely in the eye of the seller I guess! Let us know how it runs. I'm glad the dealer changed all of the filters/fluids, that can get expensive. Now your wife hopes her life can get back to normal, now that you have the tractor you kept talking about.
