Hi guys, I was here a short while ago asking about the new 2544s. Well I ended up finding a used Deere GT235 for a great price and got it. Just wanted to say bye since I probably won't be here much more now that I got the Deere and not a new Cub 2544. Of course now I will always wonder how the 2544 would have been. I think MTD is headed in the right direction with its new cast iron trannys. If they make the frames just a little heavier now, and upgrade the operator station ergonomics, my next machine might not be green. Take care

I think you would have been impressed with the Cub. If you ever get a chance to drive one, take it. We have sold many of that series.

The JD GT series are awesome machines. Our GT262 was a fine machine even with the single cyl engine & manual trans. Betcha paid more for that used GT235 than you would for a new CC 2544. That's why I tried CC this time around. Could not justify more than 2x the cost for a comparable JD GT series. You have to go up to the JD GT series to compare to the 2544.

Just because you made your purchase doesn't mean you have to go away.....it just means you'll have to post your updates and reviews in Lawn and Garden instead:

If it's a die-hard we'll want to know.

If it breaks down you'll likely get good advice, and, at very minimum, it would give the CC guys a warm fuzzy....actually, most people around TBN seem to be pretty "color blind"
