Actually, not me, the wife.

Doing this nasty bushhogging job today (luckily bid enough for it). Along ditches, 5 to 10' high, nobody knows what's under there, etc
Took both tractors and put the wife to work on one side and I went to work on another. AFter about 2 hours, the cell rings, it's the wife

"sshhhzzzt, help, the tractor is in the trees shhhhzzzt"
What the ?????????

Shut down, go running over there in the big tractor, grabbing a chain at the truck. (and of course, this is way at the other side of field (70 acres) and the TC45 is at a 45 degree angle and just sitting there and she's out.
Thank god she's alright and it's just buried in a ditch. She was working along the ditch, maybe 1 foot deep, the bank fell away under her and right the ditch went to 3 feet deep!!!!!!!!!
Luckily it was very narrow, maybe 18" wide, so it couldn't actually fall over. She did great, shut the motor down immediately and GOT THE HECK OUT!!!!

So, we hook up the chain to the 3point and the front of the TN adn start pulling. Well, that works to go backwards but it won't come out (too big of a ditch). Had to walk all the way back across (because now the TN was holding up the TC) and get the truck and another chain. Hooked the truck to the chain and the loader attachment arm (up high) and pulled it somewhat vertical and then pulled it back. Had to shuffle a couple times, but it worked.

Scary!!!!
and I had told her to stay away from the ditch, but there's no way, you could have never seen it do this. We were very lucky it keep it basically upright.
Started right up, no smoke and everything works Tough tractor
Oh and it was like 100 degrees

But I just have to ask about your comment above is this the same make and model tractor that a few weeks back was the sorriest piece of JUNK on earth??

:D :D I am just asking to stir it up I do miss that thread.

Hope you will take this in fun as it is meant.

Glad everything worked out OK. The adrenaline rush alone will heat you up. Add 100 degree heat and that doesn't sound very fun.

So far this year, I've managed to get stuck one time. (But the summer isn't over, so stay tuned) It was a small ditch like you described, but it was at the base of an earthen dam holding back a 10 acre lake. I slid in the ditch on wet grass and got the tractor leaned up against a fence post. This one ended up requiring a semi wrecker with a big winch. We had to unhook the bush hog, pull out the tractor, then drag the mower up the hill.

You have those days every now and then.

Don't be tough on the Mrs. Next time it might be you.

When I mow along ditches, I stay as far away from the edge as they are deep. So far so good...

Sure glad to everybody is alright and the equipment is not damaged. Unseen little ditches like that can turn out a lot worse.
I am constantly getting my old lady out of ditches and being stuck on her ATV. God help me when she gets her own tractor.

Great story. Glad to hear she's OK and the tractor is good to go. You described what it's like getting out of a ditch perfectly. I done the same thing a few times and every time, I suprise myself that I've gone and done it again!!! hahaha

Well maybe not in the ditch, but will a small lake do? Got a call last night to mow what the guy thought was 10 acres, needed it done imediatealy, going to sell the property. So I tell him sure, he says will pay extra for such short notice. I load tn75 and foldup shredder on trailer, move over there around 2 pm. I can normaly do around 4 acres an hours taking it easy. Feel like I gotta do that, new tractor on a place I have never shredded before. So it should take like 2 1/4 hrs right. Yeah so its like 20 acres, with some trees and a few other things that shouldn't be laying in the grass (muffler). And then there was thelittle lake with edges that wanted to cave off, thank god for 4 wheel drive, it would be worth it if it cost 10k extra. Well 6 hrs later I am finished, get to load in the dark, glad I added 4 extra lights to my canopy a few weeks ago. Client very pleased with prompt service and job well done. Says he will bring check to wifey at the bank tommorow, sure hope he does, would hate to file a lien against the place and screw up his sale!

I did that once. Front wheel dropped in a hole, while I was backing up. Added another set of rear wheels, ain't happened again, knock on wood.
