Oliver Super 55, Kioti CK35, NH TC25D, IH454G, IH464D, Ford 2000 3cyl D, Bobcat T590,
Owned a lot of tractors over the years. Downsizing and bought a CK35 as a utility today. Do y'all have any concerns or pointers for me when breaking in a new Kioti. I'm used to the Red or Green brands, so hopefully this Orange one will last at least as long as I have a use for it- 10 years or so.

This website was instrumental in my choice as I read the good and the bad regarding Kioti. So I guess I do value your collective input.

Thanks,
Retiredfarmer.

Congrats and Welcome to the Pack!

While breaking in the tractor, try to vary the rpms and not run it too hot. Also don't lug the rpms or put heavy loads on the engine like running the PTO's or stalling it. Treated right, that Kioti should last just as long as those other colored tractors. Mine is 5 years old with 400 hours on it and runs just as good as the day I got it with no repairs ever!

Dmace,
I am assuming this will be in the Owners manual, but how many hours do you consider a break-in on these higher RPM-to-HP engines. Last time I bought a new tractor was 1986. There was a higher Cu-in displacement then.
Thanks,

I never did any breakin.
I used mine from day one the same as I do today.

I waited until about 25 hours before going up to PTO rpms (2750) and using the snowblower. The dealer also did the 50-hour service and said everything looked great so that's when I started to really work it using the backhoe to dig ditches, pull stumps, and really digging into dirt piles with the loader to the point of lugging the motor a little.

Everyone has their opinion on break-in procedures but I like to play it safe for a least a little while. No engine is ready to work right out of the crate.

Welcome and have lots of safe and happy hours :) on your new tractor. I got my CK35 HST almost 2 years ago, up to 209 hours now. Great machine and know you will get lots of good use out of yours. This was my first tractor so a bit of a learning curve for me but with your experience just do your maintenance and things should be ok.

Personally I'd consider the 50 hours as break in, then you change all fluids and good to go.

Just my 2 cents.

My dad on the other hand would say, its a machine and you can't baby it, if it breaks that is what warranty is for, so start her up and run her full throttle.

:)

They delivered mine two days ago. I put 10 hard hours on it yesterday, hope I didn,t go to hard on it. Have a few complaints on it. The throttle sticks, the leaver to shift from rev to foward is hard to shift. I went for the industrial tires. I think that was a mistake. The back end seems to slide around on the hills and I got stuck a couple of times. Use the loader once to get out. The old 8n I had with the agriculture tires didn't seem to have as much problems on the hills and did just as good in the wet places. The ck is 4 wheel drive with loader. In all it seems to be a good tractor.
