Welger Balers

/ Welger Balers #21
Take a look at www.farmingforum.co.uk
It appears recommended minium HP is AP530-20 HP, AP630-37 HP, 730 AP-54,
830AP 61HP.

I participated in that discussion :)

You can run one on 20 HP, but that thing will be alike a bucking bronco drive.

They run far better and easier with a fair yolk up front

My dealer says you need at least 12o hp on a 830 as the baler creates torque wind up on the fly wheel and you need the bigger hp to control it

It depends on what type of rig you put in front. I'd advise a big old 6 pot with fair flywheel mass. That will run smoothest. both RPM wise, as driving. A heavy tractor wont be swung around as much.

A Welger 830 is known to get a 130hp tractor on its knees. If you ever want to try to find the point where the Welger says its enough, you better get a 200hp Magnum in front ;)

You just get funny bales, some have 3 strokes, some two. Its because you'd put two feet of hay away in a single stroke ;)
