Welding on a JD x585

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I've been working on a loader on my tractor. I've got the front locking mechanism built, got the supports that go from the front back to the loader uprights all measured and cut today. I want to at least get a good tack weld on everything while on the tractor. If I keep the ground for the welder as close as possible to where I'm welding will just disconnecting the battery be good ?? I don't want to mess up any of the electrical system

That's all we ever do to a tractors and they have a lot more computers then that.

Hi Yellowfever, thanks for the info, I've never welded on a tractor or vehicle before so I thought I would check. Everything fits together pretty good and the front locking system I built off the pictures you sent works great! I ended up kind of notching the 2x3 rectangular tubing I got to fit on the front piece and uprights, I'll post some pictures on that post

Thanks I would love to see what it looks like painted and on the tractor. I think I found the valve you used for your loader and it's around 270.

Yeah I think that's about right, plumbing it in wasn't really that hard. I used the same size quick connects that JD uses so everything can kind of interchange . The fittings had the little ring that slides over the tubing so there was no flaring, just put it together and tighten it down. The extra valve sure makes it nice . I'm still debating turning it 90degrees so the float will be in the right position
