If you ever need to remove silicone caulk McKanica makes a product that will basically dissolve it. Ace Hardware carries it:

I figured there had to be a product to remove silicon but hadnt looked for it. Doesnt matter now, going to pick up a new to me boat in the morning. First boat I looked at a couple weeks ago. Should have bought it then and I could be fishing right now.

Well. we could talk about fishing. Welding and fishing is a lot alike, you have to have the right rod to get'er done
