I have a brand new MF1533 with a 1525 FEL. I just noticed what looks like a crack in the weld on the lower right arm. I attached pics…any opinions or advice?

Thanks

How old is the tractor? You have 2 years to get it taken care of from time of "new".

In any case it dose look like the weld has "removed" from the one side... I am not a welder, but you would have to grind all the old weld off, then just weld the seem again, maybe 1 hr worth off work at the most.

Although it could be slag covering the weld that was painted over & is beginning to pull off I'm betting it's just a poor wire feed weld. It's possible for a poor weld to adhere to only one part. You have pictures, tap it with a screw driver or chisel to chip off some of the paint. If it's a crack, which I think it is, it can be easily welded properly. MikeD74T

Call your dealer! You paid good money to not have to deal with things like that. If the tractor had allot of hard hours on it and looked used than a weld would be okay. That paint in the picture looked so new that I could see myself in it. LOL Do your self a favor and have them replace it and not repair it.

Thats a faulty place in the factory weld that is initiating the crack. It will progagate. Company should pay for professional repair.

You’re absolutely right! The last thing I want is to have any future problems that could have been avoided. I will be seeing the dealer next week to see what he has to say.

Aside from that I love the tractor! Plenty of power etc.. I am well into my first project.:)

Just to update: MF is going to replace the FEL frame altogether - no hassels. They are shipping a new one and should be here within a week or so. I'm glad that I purchased from a Manufacturer and dealer who stands behind their products!
