i have a 2005 284 with almost 300 hours. tonight using it, i noticed that when turning right, it would go to full stop in one turn of the wheel from straight, and turning left it takes two and half turns from straight. so i checked from lock left to lock right it takes two and a half turns and turning back to lock left it takes 3 and a half turns. and me having ocd when it comes too my little hard won tractor, this will not do. so my question to yall is, could this be a seal in the steering ram or air in one of the lines (side note, i had rubber coated washer blow on the divertor that goes to the steering valve. i replaced it with a copper one) or could be the steering valve going bad or even a piece debris?

Most common reason is steering cylinder bypass. In fact, common enough where most Jinma dealers now stock steering cylinder repair kits on a regular basis.

I replaced my FarmPro 2420 steering cylinder seals for your exact reason. Mine did it too. I found the repair to be fairly simple with common hand tools found on a farm. In other words if I can do it I'm sure most anyone else can too.

thanks for the input guys, i haven't had time to fix it, or even order parts yet.

I just took mine off tonight and the end that unscrews to remove the piston rod and then the seals is a flat plate with just two holes in it. I uses a large pair of needle nosed pliers to back it out.

Tommy or Ronald, are they all this way? I expected to see a cylinder end on it like the ones that are on the FEL but was not that way when I removed the rubber boot.
