I was shredding this afternoon with my "new to me" Ford 7710. This is my first cab tractor. I was going along with the AC about to freeze me out and the radio belting out a string of Texas music, thinking about how different the old days were shredding without cab and air whe "IT" happened. Now keep in mind I have 2 full days (tomorrow and Sunday) to myself to finally get my entire place shredded while it is still dry (mowing a wet bottom). Al of a sudden a loud hissing sound disrupted my little paradise as an oily film spewed all over the window to my left. The oil was coming from behind the post that separates my side window and my door. The cab was filled with an oily mist. I quickly killed the tractor and exited the cab. After the spewing stopped I re-entered to assess the situation. Seems that my hi pressure AC line decided to break at a pressure fit line coupling. Fine thing this is. Got a guy coming out at daybreak. If we can find a line, he says its a 3 or 4 hour fix. At best, Ill be shredding by noon. Oh well, I guess thats life. Certainly could be worse, but it wasn't in my plans. By the way, Im keeping a rifle in my tractor and have killed 5 (possibly 6) coyotes in 3 days of shredding.

Well, if you don't get the AC fixed, you'll be shredding in a sauna. I've heard that lots of tractors have sauna cabs these days.;)

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I guess cleaning the atomized lube off the inside of the cab is the least of your worries. I hope it's fixed soon. Our heat and humidity level is way up there with the showers moving through the last couple of days.

Same thing happened with one of vehicles many years ago. A bit of close inspection and the rubber high pressure line developed a longitudinal crack about 1/4" long. All I have done to it was to get a knurled splice kit to fix it. the splice kits has a graduated knurled male coupling and two ss clamps. I still had a bit of pressure left in the line so I cut it right at the failure point , installed the fitting , evacuated the system and charged it with R-12 and had the ac back. Did not change receiver drier. Does your warranty cover it?
I bit you have 134a.
JC,
