Weeds and grass control

Hi all about 18 months ago i planted 1000 hornbeam plants as a hedge but now have a lot of weeds and grass around then what do you guys us to keep the weeds and grass down as i don't fancy weeding around them by hand

any advice or ides would be much appreciated

I would use roundup. If you keep it off the leaves of your plants they should do "OK".

Next time put down a fabric weed barrier and plant your shrubs through it.

I second ToadHill, with a friendly amendment -- use generic Roundup (glyphosate) and save some $s.
