Weed killer cheap price?

Pricing Glyphosate. TSC Roundup 50% $119 gal. Seemed expensive to me. No generic there that i could find, but didnt ask anyone . Shot over to Lowes to price. Found Roundup 41% Gly. At 169.00 for 2 1/2 gal. Seemed better price than TSC . Tucked in corner I noticed "Ultra Kill" 41% Gly. 2 1/2 gal for 69.97. Even better. Generic but seemed like buy to me. Later I found it's made by Spectricide. I wondered if it might have been old stuff. I called 800 number on jug. They asked for skew #. With number they knew I bought bottle at Lowes. They explained how to read when made. Mine was made oct 7, 2013. Pretty fresh. (the computer knows all) By the way, fellow told me there is no "use by" date as long as it's not contaminated. I guess you don't want to open it till you need.

Question? Is $69.97 a good enough buy to get more to have enough for this season and next season too? The container says it makes up to 213 gallon. The way prices increase buying 5 or 10 gallon might be better than investing in stock? But I think 41% was selling last yr. for about $60 on sale. That's per gallon. Price I got, 69,97 was per 2 1/2 gallon.

Darn! No matter how hard I try, I can't get a break. I didn't see any 2 1/2 gallon sizes at TSC I was in the weed and bug section. I guessing I missed the biger 2.5 gallon size. Probably in a different part af store. Should have sought out salesperson and saved 20 bucks. And I thought I was a good shopper. Can't win 'em all.

I'm now wondering. If I had reason to go back to TSC and Lowes, for $20 I might return spray. I have been accused , in the past, of being a cheapskate. So, I got an image to keep up.

I feel lot better now. TSC & Lowes is 12 miles from me. My big old rear wheel drive car gets about 18 mpg. So it going to cost me 2 gallons of gas to get there. So it's a wash to return purchase. As I indicated, I'm essentially "El Cheapo". So after gas I only save $2. Not enough to move me to save. I could ask my wife to take me in her car. It's new and gets better mileage than my car. But I'd have to spring for dinner. There goes my savings. Anyway, she wouldn't allow me to transport poison in her car.

As I mentioned before, I can't get a break these days.

Normally when a price ends in .97 its a clearance price, might be a hold over from last year.

I get my 41% at the co op in 2.5 gallon jugs for under $50.

I bought mine at Agrisupply the last time and the generic was i think like $49 for 2.5 gallons. Previously i got it there 18-24 months prior for about $45.

If it does not have the sticker in it, just add some dish wash soap to the spray mix. It coats the leaves and grass much better.
